Day 1

Altitude: 150 m / 490 ft

Drive Duration: Approx. 4 Hours

Arrive at Lucknow Airport / Railway Station and meet our representative. Drive to

Nepalgunj.

(Optional: Local sightseeing in Nepalgunj – Bageshwari Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, by taxi at own cost.)

Overnight: Nepalgunj

Day 2

Flight Duration: Nepalgunj–Simikot (45 mins)

Helicopter: Simikot–Hilsa (20 mins)

Altitude: Taklakot – 3,900 m

Early morning packed breakfast, then transfer to airport for flight to Simikot. After a short halt, board a chartered helicopter to Hilsa.

Lunch at Hilsa, followed by a 15–20 min walk to cross the bridge and complete immigration formalities at the Chinese check post.

Proceed by coach to Taklakot (approx. 45 mins drive).

Day 3

Entire day free for rest, acclimatization, and exploration of the local market.

Day 4

Altitude: 4,550 m

Distance: 90 km | Drive: 1.5 hrs

After breakfast, drive to Mansarovar Lake, en route visiting Rakshas Tal.

From here, enjoy the first view of Mount Kailash. On the right, see Gurla Mandhata Parvat.

On arrival at Mansarovar, complete the Mansarovar Parikrama by bus (105 km / approx. 3 hrs).

Our team leaders will stop at selected points for holy bath, puja, and havan.

Day 5

(1st Day of Kailash Parikrama) Altitude: Diraphuk – 4,880 m Trek: 12 km | 5–6 hrs

After breakfast, drive to Yamdwar via Darchen (43 km / 1.5 hrs).

Yamdwar marks the starting point of Kailash Parikrama. From here, enjoy the South Face view of Mount Kailash.

Trek to Diraphuk, enjoying views of the West Face of Mount Kailash en route. Pilgrims not doing Parikrama may return to Darchen / Taklakot.

Horse facility available at Yamdwar at own cost.

Day 6

(2nd Day of Kailash Parikrama) Altitude: Dolma La Pass – 5,700 m Trek: 22 km | 8–9 hrs

After breakfast, trek towards Dolma La Pass, the most challenging section of the Yatra. The climb is steep for approx. 3 km before the pass and equally steep during descent.

En route, see the sacred Gauri Kund. Continue trekking to Zuthulphuk.

Day 7

(Final Day of Parikrama) Trek: 8 km | 3 hrs

After breakfast, trek to Mani Wall.

From here, drive to Darchen, rejoining other group members. Continue drive to Taklakot.

Altitude: Hilsa – 3,700 m | Simikot – 2,900 m

After breakfast, drive to the border checkpoint and walk across the bridge to Hilsa. Fly by helicopter to Simikot.

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS & PROCEDURE

  1. Passport Validity

Passport must be valid for at least 06 months from the date of travel.

  1. Passport Pages

Passport must have a minimum of two (02) blank pages.

  1. Existing Chinese Visa

Any existing valid Chinese visa in the passport must be cancelled prior to applying for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra visa.

  1. Booking & Visa Process
    • Submit the advance booking amount along with a clear photocopy (Xerox) of the passport at the time of booking.

CRITICAL RISK ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

(As per Operator Guidelines)*

Before booking, all Yatris must clearly understand and accept the following conditions:

  • The operator shall not be responsible for any accidents, injuries, delays, or evacuation issues arising due to natural calamities, adverse weather conditions, or remote and inaccessible terrain.
  • The operator shall not be liable for any illness, injury, or health complications resulting from the hazards of high-altitude travel, where immediate medical or emergency facilities may be unavailable.
  • No refunds shall be applicable for route changes, delays, cancellations, or restrictions imposed by Chinese authorities or due to any circumstances beyond the operator’s control.
  • This Yatra is a physically demanding, high-altitude, and high-risk pilgrimage. All participants undertake the journey entirely at their own risk, having assessed their physical fitness and medical condition.

HEALTH ADVISORY & ALTITUDE WARNING

  • Fitness Requirement:

This is one of the most challenging high-altitude pilgrimages. Participants must be in excellent physical health.

  • Mandatory Medical Check-Up:

A comprehensive medical examination by a qualified doctor is compulsory, especially for pilgrims with heart, lung, blood pressure, or respiratory conditions (e.g., asthma).

  • Altitude Sickness Awareness:

Common symptoms include headache, nausea, loss of appetite, dizziness, and breathlessness.

The acclimatization day at Taklakot is critical for minimizing altitude-related risks.

  • Safety Precautions:
    • Drink 3–4 liters of water daily
    • Strictly avoid alcohol and smoking
    • Do not over-exert or rush during trekking
    • Immediately inform your guide or team leader in case of severe or persistent symptoms

FAQ

The helicopter yatra generally takes 9 to 11 days, depending on weather conditions, flight schedules, and acclimatization requirements.
The yatra starts from Lucknow, with onward travel via Nepalgunj, Simikot, and Hilsa, followed by entry into Tibet.
Indian passport holders aged generally between 18 and 70 years, who are medically and physically fit, can join. A medical fitness certificate is mandatory.
